I Blame the Media

I completely and thoroughly blame the media for the continued and over-inflated coverage of this event. They are indulging a stupid, petty little man who wants nothing more than his moment in the limelight. He doesn't care that he's not sending the message he intends; all he cares about is the fame he's getting from it. He doesn't care that he is abusing his First Amendment rights in the same way a person screaming "Fire" in a theater when there is no fire abuses the First Amendment. He doesn't care that he is hurting a lot of good people with his very public and overly-media-hyped bigotry.

And I blame the media for much of the hype and angst about it.

Had the media simply turned their back on it, or, if they felt the need to mention it, to do so as if he were some sort of sick, sad joke, while interviewing American Muslims instead and showing how American Muslims aren't the insurgents, in the same way that Focus on Family aren't Christian.

I blame the media entirely for mishandling this.
