Apparently food manufacturers are putting inulin fiber into food that doesn't need it like chocolates, orange juice, ice cream, processed cheeses and cheese spreads, and many beverages.
Look for inulin, chicory root extract, oligosaccharide, or oligofructose in the label.
According to research conducted by the University of Minnesota, most healthy people can only tolerate up to 5 grams of inulin before they experience bloating, flatulence, diarrhea or constipation, stomach cramping, nausea, heartburn, and gas.
