I agree, forbidding home worship and study is wrong.

That said, I can see where the city might be upset about putting up a sign - the placement or type of sign may be illegal. Most cities have ordinances about what kinds of signs can be erected and where, and they also control size and even colors on them. This is nothing new. I used to work for an outdoor sign company back in the 70's and those ordinances were in place back then.

I'd support them even though I'm not Christian, because what we do in the privacy of our homes is not any governing body's business (unless it involves violence such as abuse, murder, rape, noise violations, or involves a search warrant). Social activities (and religious studies, parties, etc.) are clearly not in the province of a governing body.

By reaching into a person's home and dictating what kinds of social activities in which the resident/owner may engage, the city is saying that the home is not private space, but public space - and I totally disagree with that.
