This is why the only words out of your mouth if police mistakenly arrest you should be: "I want a lawyer." A lawyer can establish your identity quickly and get you released without charges. That means no record, no paying bail, you're free.
Until next time, of course, since at least one person mentioned in this article was mistakenly arrested twice.
Of course, if you did commit the crime, your only words should still be "I want a lawyer" but for different reasons.
