The military buries 100 - 150 soldiers a month. If there's a government shut-down, the grieving families of these soldiers won't be able to bury them in military graveyards, won't receive the death benefit that allows the families to bury their loved one, may not be able to buy the flag that comes with military honors, and may not have the funds to meet the unexpected expenses that always arise with a death.

If there's a government shut-down, what are we, the people, going to do about this?

We must rise to help these families. Those politicians who are wrapping themselves in the flag need to be reminded that the soldiers who die during the shut down won't have a flag to be wrapped in as they are laid to rest for eternity.
