I am not a mindless mama grizzly. I am not mean, aggressive, or irrational, as the wild grizzly female can be when it comes to her cubs. I have greater concerns than just my children and my immediate family. I know that what's good for me and mine isn't necessarily good for you and yours, or him and his, or her and hers, or all y'all's. And I tend to address those concerns in a rational, well-reasoned, manner that is assertive, polite, and hopefully, kind.

I am all for less government invasiveness, which does not necessarily translate into "less government".

Our government actually does a lot of things right, and we need to keep our government on task for those things it should do and do well: bridge and road maintenance and planning, military training and emergency response, environmental oversight and policing, the judiciary, trade agreements, enforcing product safety, education, healthcare, education, communications, issuing licenses and permits (but not determining beyond the requirements for the licenses and permits whether we should use or own or do whatever the license or permit is for.

We do need to get government out of morality - it's not the government's business what we do inside our own homes, on our own property, or in private spaces. In public, sure, but when we have 4chan policing bad public behavior (like trash binning a cat), we don't need government doing that so much - only for follow up and possibly prosecution. It's not the government's business to be the intermediary between a doctor and a patient, to determine what medical procedures or medications a doctor and the patient feels the patient needs -whether that's vicodan or THC, an abortion or a heart transplant.

I have no desire to rip anyone to shreds - there are far more effective and enduring methods available to deal with matters than bloody violence.

I have no desire to "take America back" because it never went away. We still have America. What we need to do is move America forward - progressively, prosperously, and productively.

Most "mama grizzlies" claim they want to take America back but offer no solutions, have no suggestions other than "you better not!" and "go away!" When they do work on something, it's because it's personal and will benefit their child, or perhaps children just like theirs, and screw all the other children.

So-called "mama grizzlies" have voted "No" on allowing restraining orders to be recognized across state lines (Angle), against kindergarten programs for at-risk children (Haley), slashed funding for helping teen mothers (Palin), against paid parental leave (Bachmann), against increasing Pell Grant funding (Bachmann), and against health care for low income children (Bachmann and Haley).

They've repeatedly spoken out against funding early childhood education, against student retention measures, and against school modernization. They oppose abortion and cut funding to support the mandatory mothers and the unwanted babies. They oppose day cares and equal pay.

It seems to be they don't want to regain control over America so much as they want to drag it back to pre-Christian, or perhaps prehistorical, times.

I am so not a "mama grizzly"!

I want to see every child born to be a planned, dreamed for, hoped for, wanted child.

I want every person to have the opportunity to achieve the highest educational goals they want - and if that's a vo-tech to become a very well paid plumber, then go for it, I say.

I want employers to have to spend a month a year doing the most menial jobs in their companies - and to pay all their employees living wages.

I want chemistry kits for kids to contain real chemicals that maybe can do real damage, but will teach the kids about real chemistry and not cotton wool chemistry where mixing baking soda and vinegar is as volatile as it gets.

I want wages dependent upon the job, not the gender or color or age of the person filling the job.

I want both people to have the paid time to spend taking care of their families - both their heart families and their blood families - of any age, not just newborns.

I want schools to be relevant to life and not babysitting or diploma mills.

I'm all for having the lowest possible taxes balanced against societal needs.

There's more, but you get the idea.

I am a very mindful and cunning monkey.
