Our very first (that I know of) Oklahoma Steamy Picnic will take place in just a few days - on Monday, May 31st, at 11:00 a.m. at Will Rogers Park, located at NW 36th and Portland in Oklahoma City. There's a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms so some people are wanting an alternative location. All of the free picnic shelters are booked at Will Rogers.
I'm thinking it would be OK to bring tarps and rope and rig a canopy or pavilion of some sort in the event of rain.
I'd be more concerned if there were going to be a lot of us there, but it looks as if there will be a maximum of 12. Only 6 have confirmed they will absolutely be there and committed to bringing food for the potluck.
Six people isn't very many to shelter under a tarp erected over a picnic table - and we'd need only one table.
I'd be happy to offer my house for the picnic but it's a hideous, horrid mess of moving right now. My home should be visitable again by August, I hope.
In the meantime, we need to find an alternative place for a potluck that is sheltered and easy to find.
