Bottled Water

Bottled water is not a daily purchase for me. At home and work, I drink tap water out of refillable bottles. On road trips, I fill several such refillable bottles for the ice chest, then refill them from tap water out of drinking fountains along the way. On rare short trips where I don't bring water with me (out shopping for instance) and Itzl is desperate for water, I may buy him a small bottle if his refillable bottle is empty. He likes drinking directly from it. And then there's SoonerCon.

For SoonerCon, I usually buy 8 cases of water for all the guests and volunteers. We generally use all but a few bottles.

Of course, SoonerCon is a special case. I've toyed with buying the large water dispenser with the 5 gallon refillable jugs, but getting the water to the guests conveniently still involves disposable bottles, and in the end, it's cheaper to just buy cases of individually bottled water. I do recycle the bottles. This year, I'll have some actual bins for recycling and not just bags hanging from the closet pole.
