The article itself isn't what I'm postiing about - it's the (to me) disturbing trend of making 911 calls public.
I, personally, don't think they should be so casually made public. They should be protected under the same laws as HIPAA (since most 911 calls involve medical emergencies) and the mail.
I've decided that I am not going to call 911 until I can have a reasonable expectation of privacy. I don't want any call I made splattered all over the news without my express permission. I doubt I'll give it.
There is no compelling purpose in releasing those calls to the general public. It's all theater and ratings and ghoulishness.
