In the beginning was the vine. And upon the vine grew the grape And when the grape was ripe, it fell to the ground and fermented. And God became drunk upon the fruit of his labor. And in His drunkenness, he did make dollies in His image and breathed His vaporous breath upon them. And they did dance. And God laughed.
God so loved His dollies that he bade their mouths open so they, too, could delight in His new beverage.
Drunk together, they sang songs and tried to make sweet love, but they lacked the parts.
God, in His infinite love, did fix this, so they could all party and make love and sing sappy songs.
But his dollies were wasted on wine alone, so God did grow corn. From the grains of the corn, He made bread. Upon the bread and the wine, his dollies grew strong.
He taught them how to plant more vines and when to gather the grapes to make more wine. And they were so successful that the rivers did flow with wine and the heart of the world was cheered. And God saw it was good.
In wine is wisdom. As God's dollies spread across the earth, they shared their bread and wine, their wisdom and mirth and love.
And God beamed and lifted a glass of wine to His dollies and bade them joy forever.
