I tried doing a blog for Itzl and it didn't work out because I kept not posting to it.
I don't care for MySpace, and all those "DoggieSpace" and "My Doggie" sites were - not right.
I don't do Twitter because I don't have a cell phone (I carry one mostly for emergencies but it doesn't having texting on it) and remembering to update from a computer is not easy.
Itzl has a lot of friends on Facebook, though: human, canine, feline, and exotic. Maybe if I make him a Facebook page, I'll remember to update it. Facebook is a kind of between blogging and tweeting. It might be the right medium for him.
My sister was laughing because I said he was taking Xoco out for burgers for lunch since he had a Sonic gift card. She thought it funny that a dog had a gift card. What she doesn't know is that Itzl has a lot of gift cards, enough that I was considering buying him his own wallet so he could carry around his gift cards (from Target, Braum's Taco Bueno, Sonic, Whataburger, PetsMart, and Doggone Bakery) his ID cards from work and as a Hearing Ear Dog, his health insurance card, his passport, and the photos of his girlfriends. He has several girlfriends: Xoco, obviously, and Pepper and Rhapsody, and his special feline friends Symphony and Remi. He has many other friends, but these are his bffs.
I think he needs a wallet of his own.
Just as he needed his own dresser for his sweaters, coats, and accessories.
Xoco now has her own dresser of sweaters, collars, leashes, and accessories, too.
She doesn't need a wallet, though, because she doesn't qualify for health insurance, doesn't have any ID cards or gift cards, and doesn't care enough about her bffs (except Itzl) to carry around their pictures. She wants her own lunchbox, though.
She was finally spayed last night. Everytime I tried to schedule her for spaying, since last November, she's gone into heat the day before her scheduled spay date. She's been in heat three times since November. But I finally got her in to the vet between heats so she doesn't have to do this ever again.
It was a circus getting her spayed, though.
Apparently the vet overloaded his surgery schedule, and kept pushing off her spay until later and later in the day. They finally took her in at 4:30 last night and wanted to keep her overnight.
I was a bit leery about that. If they overbooked for surgery, their after care section must also be overburdened. She wouldn't get very good care if they were too busy to pay attention to her. So I picked her up at 7:00 p.m.
She was very happy to come home.
She's doing well and by this weekend will probably be quite normal.
I think I'll make her a Facebook page, too, just so she can snark at Itzl.
