I don't mind Palin's posturings and publicity-whoring. She is a personable celebrity, the kind of person that everybody is coming to see as their slightly dim, easily confused, and not-to-honest friend that still manages to be popular anyway - the one who's more like Luann of the comic strip of the same name or Paige on the comic strip Foxtrot.

The more she puts herself out in front of people, the less likely she'll be able to become President of the US. This isn't a bad thing - how many Americans are capable of becoming the President compared to how many aren't? Barack Obama is the 44th President - 44 Americans out of millions of Americans actually became President, and of the millions who didn't become President, maybe as many as hundreds are actually capable of handling the office.

Most of us are better suited for other careers, Palin included. She's proving that she is a box office draw, a great entertainer, and certainly fodder for all kinds of juicy, boredom-chasing gossip. She can do more from her current position as a celebrity than she will ever be able to do as a politician.

I think many Americans are beginning to realize this; with greater exposure comes greater knowledge of her. That knowledge is telling us: entertain us but don't try to rule us.

Palin is great at inciting elitist attitudes, anger, hatred, and divisiveness - all things we don't want in a President but adore in a celebrity.

This will make Palin rich - and isn't that just brilliant of her?
