Snow. Melt. Snow. Melt.

The morning snow melted, but not in time for lunch, so Itzl had to brave snowflakes as large as he is. One spatted down on his head and was so big it looked like a hat. He looked appalled, then shook his head and trotted for the breezeway, where he marked the golf cart, the cement benches, and a stray leaf that blew in. Then he scratched his back legs with a "so there!" and went to stand by the door to be let in.

Snow meltage did little good, however, as it is snowing again.

This snow is colder than the morning snow was, smaller, and packing tighter.

According to the weather channels, it's supposed to continue snowing until past midnight, when the skieswill clear and the heat of the earth will rise to the skies, leaving the land to shiver beneath its white blanket.

The morning drive to work wil be treacherous with ice if the wind doesn't dry the streets before they freeze.

Of course, by afternoon, the temperature will be up enough to melt most of what falls during the night.

Today's snow looks much more like our typical Okie snow: fall, melt, fall, melt, fall, melt.

This is the kind of snow that crazy drivers cause accidents in because it looks harmless. They drive too fast or far too slow.

At least in the December 24th snow, it was so bad so fast most of the worst drivers were stranded before I got to leave work and I mostly had to deal with the timid drivers who were getting stuck partway up slopes ar at the bottom of slopes.

January's snow I didn't even go out in since it happened overnight on a Thursday and I blew a vacation day so I wouldn't have to drive in it.

But today? Much as I dislike the wet snow, at least it's warm enough the roads will remain decent all day and well after I get home.

It's just that slick drive in the pre-dawn I dread.
