Third Tine Ends It?

It is snowing outside again.

Again.

We've only had 3 days clear of the last snow. Oklahoma is not Wisconsin or Montana or some other state that gets snow measured in feet. We are a state whose annual snow fall is measured in centimeters and is called such things as "a dusting" of snow or a "haze" of snow that falls but doesn't stick. When we get snow that is actually measurable, it melts away by the next day.

I can't recall a time when we've had enough snow altogether in a year to equal half a foot of snow and here we are, well into our second foot of snow.

Feet. Snow feet.

Snowklahoma, where the wind scours out our eyes
And the freezing wheat meets the street
When the snow comes right behind the ice
Snowklahoma!
Ev'ry night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk while watching a dark
TV screen and sigh

We know we belong to something grand
But it ain't a snowy patch of land!
And when we say
Yeeeow! Ayipoieeay!
We're just sayin'
We're slipping and falling, Snowklahoma
Snowklahoma Oh No!

OMG, we already have an inch of snow that's fallen as I type this. I'm so glad I stuck that shovel in my car this morning, and the traction mats, and that I covered my windshield with a shower curtain before I came inside. The drive home will not be pleasant.

In fact, I think it will be every bit as bad as it was December 24th.
