The difference between Bush and Obama is amazing - Bush was all "I did this" and "You will do that" and never a "we" in the whole thing.

Obama's is filled with "us" and "we" and "let's" and he reads some of the letters he receives.

He's been blunt about the economy, and reasonably accurate, which means he knows what's happening, it's not all pie-in-the-sky.

He never said "you have to tighten your belt", he said "families across the country are tightening their belts and making tough decisions. The federal government should do the same."

This is good to hear even if it means it will be at least 3 more years before I see a pay raise (it's already been 6 years since my last raise...and Bush never once apologized or acknowledged that, while Obama has).

I haven't gone through the transcript very well yet - the ice storm is holding an upper place in my mind right now, will I be able to make it home? - but I will.

So far, Obama connects more easily with us, and he speaks well. We'll see how that translates to action.
