I've been reading a lot of newspaper articles and blogs today that announce "there was no terrorism under Bush" and "we had no terrorism under Bush" and other similar comments.

What was 9/11 and the USA PATRIOT Act and why then did Bush declare war and create Homeland Security and start all the airport checks, if none of that was related to terrorism? And it all started under Bush, not Obama.

These reporters and bloggers are all saying terrorism is Obama's fault, he caused it, he's perpetuating it, and he's doing nothing to stop it.

It boggles my mind.

Do these reporters and bloggers really have such pitifully short memories and a complete incapacity to conduct simple, basic research?

I'll grant Obama isn't doing as well as he'd hoped or as well as his supporters hoped, but he's not as bad as so many Republicans (and so far, all the reporters and bloggers I've read who are blindly repeating the "no terrorism under Bush" theme are all Republicans - that could change as I keep reading) are claiming.

We knew going into this presidential term that whoever was elected would have a very hard time turning the country around, and there are people (no need to name names, we can clearly see who they all are) who are deliberately being obstructive because their presidential choice didn't win. How petty is it to deliberately try to tank a country because you disagreed with the election results and just happen to be in a position to throw your little tantrum?

I know the Dem ratings are dropping because Obama was unable to flip a switch and miraculously make things all better before he was even sworn into office. McCain would have failed to do much better, even though he wouldn't have had near the stonewalling and obstructive behavior Obama has to deal with.

And stop with the lies and the revisionist history, we see what you're doing and it won't work.

Can't we all think of our country, for once?
