Since I don't have a phone, I don't have to worry about FB handing it out to app developers, spammers, or telemarketers (a step below spamming); but they also want a physical address to share with those same people.

First, "authenticity" needs to be defined. One person's "authentic" is another person's "counterfeit", because they each have different experiences and expectations.

I think the reason people aren't satisfied by apologies is because they have unrealistic expectations of what an apology is and what it will do, not to mention the fact that many people flat out don't apologize correctly.
