For a a cookbook?

Even if it is 2,400 pages, I am not such a foodie that I will cough up that much money for a self-published book.

I want it tested, reviewed, edited. I want information from it that I don't already know and can't glean from other sources (I already knew all the info divulged in the article, for example, and quite a bit more, too).

Cooking for Geeks, for example, explores many of the same things, and this book is under $20.

Convince me this book is worth half a month's pay and maybe I'll buy it. (I am such a foodie) It has to be something extra special and worth it, something I would use nearly every day, for me to cough up that much money for it.
